"June"

I decided to stay up late tonight so I can finally finish some of the posts that I've started. I have been really lazy for some reason about blogging and picture taking, so I will try to get back on track and catch up on things. June has been a crazy busy month for us, so I will try to remember some of the highlights...

The first weekend of June we had the first Hutchins/Bankhead reunion. Kevin's Aunt Sharon and all of her children came down w/ their kiddos and we had a blast. We don't get to see Kevin's cousins that often, so we were so happy to be able to get everyone together.

All the kiddos in matching outfits-in case you are wondering it was impossible to get 7 children to look at the camera at the same time! From left to right: Johnathan, Mallory, Julia, Morgan, Hunter, Hannah, and Kaitlyn

Since Hunter and Hannah's favorite thing right now seems to be the water and pools aka "poo" as Hunter calls it we decided to get one for the yard. We put their little slide into it and they had a blast. They also recently started swim lessons on Mondays and Thursdays. We are having our 3rd session tomorrow, and unfortunately I have yet to get any pictures. Katy and Adalee are in the class with us so that makes it even more fun. The first day Katy's mom volunteered to help me out (there has to be one adult per child in the water). Neither one of them were crazy about it the first day-I think it was just the combination of being in a new surrounding and not knowing Katy's mom but we got through it. Thank you Sandy for being so patient!! The next time Kevin's dad volunteered to go with us and it went much better. We had taken them to the big pool at our neighborhood clubhouse for some "practice lessons" in between so I think they were more warmed up to the idea by then, and it may have had something to do with their "Paw Paw" being there with them too! Here are some pics of their little play pool, I am going to try really hard to somehow get some at their swimming lessons.....

I also had my 10 year high school reunion the beginning of June. I wasn't planning on going, but after some coaxing from my friends I decided to last minute. I still am pretty close with a lot of my girlfriends from high school, but we don't get a chance to see each other very often so it was fun to hang out with the girls again! I am definitely glad I went, but I'm even more excited about our 20 year reunion-that should be interesting...........................

Still to come: our trip to the Frio last week.......................................

"Better late than never"-random pics

I have fallen behind on the blogging, but I have cute pics that I want to post, so who cares if they are a little dated? These are more for the purpose of me just being able to look back and remember all our fun times in the years to come, but I thought you may enjoy too!

These are random pics from May of Kevin's Memorial day show, and Hunter and Hannah being silly-as usual:

Hunter snacking at Kevin's show

Hunter and Hannah being groupies-it was their first time to hear their Daddy sing

Hannah and Gammy-she's pointing at Kevin saying dadadada over and over

Me, Katy, and Adalee

Hannah and Grandpa cutting a rug on the dancefloor
This is one of their new favorite things to do. I'm not sure why they find it fascinating, but they lay on the ottoman and giggle at each other?? (if your wondering what Hannah is wearing, that dress was mine when I was little-my mother brought it over and I was trying to indulge her)

Giving hugs and kisses

Hannah showing off her new swimsuit

Trying to get his straw back into his Capris sun (another favorite right now)

Taking a break from the sprinkler for a few swigs

Hunter getting pelted by the crazy sprinkler

Kevin and Hannah setting up the sprinkler

Still to come this week: "The Hutchins/Bankhead mini-reunion" and my 10 year high school reunion-stay tuned!

MEMORIAL DAY SHOW

Hey everyone-I'm not sure how many people actually read this blog...but for those that do we wanted to let ya'll know that Kevin's old band will be playing at Stowaway Marina this Sunday on Memorial day. They don't get together very often, so he's excited about being able to sing, and I will be bringing Hannah and Hunter up for a while (it will be the first time they will hear their Daddy really sing)!

The marina is the one right down the street from our house, and it will be very laid back and casual. They are playing from 4-8pm. We would love to see everyone there-it should be fun!! If anyone needs directions or other details, let me know. Love-Mandy

"Our jibber-jabbering, corn-on-the-cob eating, fireman hat wearing, little sleepyheads"

The title of this pretty much sums up what we have been up to for the last week. These two are certainly keeping us thouroughly entertained. Our days are pretty much spent trying to figure out how to keep two 20 month olds entertained for 10 hours a day....it is a lot of work, but so much fun! I am really loving the age they are at right now, they are changing so fast everday!

Today was Mother's Day-so happy Mom's Day to all you mothers out there! We started out the day going to church with was great as usual, then came back home to snack and let them grab a quick nap. After that we headed to Keith and Jana's house for crawfish. The crawfish were yummy, and Hannah and Hunter had a blast running around their backyard, and playing with ALL of Kaitlyn's toys. Kevin and I were actually able to eat some crawfish ourselves with no major interupptions this time thanks to their Gammy Pam's idea to bring some corn-on-the-cob. As you will see in the pictures to follow-that is their favorite "new" thing. I am starting to let them have bigger pieces of food to experiment with, and who would have thought that a simple cob of corn could occupy a them for such a LONG time!

After Keith and Jana's we headed to my mom's to let them play with some of the new toys she got for them, then we went to see my Dad and Kim and ended up eating dinner there with them. My dad made some delicious sour cream enchiladas and a HUGE bowl of "whockamole" as he called it. When we visit my dad, Hunter's favorite thing to do is stack their Dr. Pepper cans. They have some 12-packs on the floor of the kitchen, and it never fails-the minute we walk through the door, he starts taking them out and stacking and sorting them. They said they didn't mind, and we figured if it kept him entertained then what's the harm?? In the back of my mind I knew we probably shouldn't let him do it, and always wondered if they ever had any explosions after we left. Well, tonight as we were eating dinner, we had a major spew. I thought a bomb had gone off for a second until I realized that the stuff spraying the walls, floor, my face, etc. was Dr. Pepper. I felt sorry for Hunter because it scared him so much, so needless to say, it was a lesson learned-don't let your kids play with pressurized cans! Thanks to Kim for her quick clean up skills, so we were able to get back to our dinner!!

Here are some recent pics and videos from the last few weeks, hope they make you smile as much as they do us!

One More...

Here's one more of our funny little man. Notice how he pauses after he smacks his lips to make sure everybody in the room was watching him, what a little ham!

Our Funny Man

This is a video that was taken on Easter day at Kevin's parents house. I kept forgetting to post it, but watched it again today and decided I had to. Hunter is taking sips of Pam's iced tea, and he is putting on quite a show for everyone as you will see..........forgive the poor quality, I took it w/ my camera. Enjoy!

Showers and Showers

If I haven't mentioned it before, our good friends Jaime and Larissa our about to have a little baby girl named "Maya Grace". We are so excited to have more friends with kiddos, and can't wait for her arrival. I can already imagine having playdates with Maya, Adalee, Kaitlyn, Hannah and Hunter....I'm sure Hunter will be leading the pack, being the only boy (or he will be simply taken over by the girls)!
Friday night our good friends Monica and Doug came to stay with us. I was roomates in hygiene school with Monica, and I guess we didn't drive each other crazy enough-because we are still good friends! After school they lived in Willis for a few years while she finished her degree, then moved back home to Georgetown. We had fun catching up and whined about how we miss each other-she was one of my best shopping companions! Hopefully we will be able to visit them in Georgetown soon. Saturday was Jaime and Larissa's baby shower/crawfish boil at their house. This was the 3rd annual crawfish boil, and somehow there is always a baby shower involved! Ours was first, then his brother and sister in law, and now theirs-I guess crawfish and baby stuff do go pretty good together! We took the kids for a bit, then Kevin brought them back home so Pam could watch them and we could relax on our own for a while--thanks a bunch Pam!

Sunday afternoon I went to a bridal shower for my friend Ashley, one of my good friends from high school. She and Clenn have been dating for as long as I can remember, and I am so happy for her and can't wait for the big day. Ashley is one of the few people in life that can make you laugh, even if you've had a really bad day. I guess that's what I love about her so much! Here are a few pictures from the bridal shower:Katy, Jenny, and Hilary
